We stayed at the Glam Hotel for 4 nights in April. You are greeted by really friendly front of house who were really helpful giving us guidance of places to see and how to get around. The room was very clean. The breakfast was nice and the rooftop terrace was lovely to sit out for drinks in the afternoon/evening. The hotel is very well located. All the main sites are walking distance. Would love to come back and stay here again. A little tip - the bathrooms are open so you can ask for a screen if required. We had our daughter with us so got one.

The Glam Hotel is absolutely stunning. With a friendly and helpful staff, they made you feel at home. We felt very safe walking at night and also leaving valuables in our room. The hotel is in a great location with a taxi and bus stop located across the street. A block away is the subway and just a few blocks more is the train station. We were able to easily walk to the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, and Campo Di Fiori.

Went to The Glam on the recommendation of a colleague, and on the back of the reviews on Tripadvisor. We were very disappointed with our overall experience. The hotel itself is very well appointed and in a perfect location for all attractions and within walking distance of the Roma Termini. However, that is as good as it gets, unfortunately. We are not one to write unfavorable reviews but on this occasion, we feel this is warranted. We requested an anti-slip mat on the first night, just after check-in, and were told it was no problem. Two days later it still hadn't arrived so on requesting again at Reception, we were told 'I don't think we have them'. On checking with housekeeping, we were then told that they would have a look and if they found one, it would be taken to our room. On arrival back later in the day, the mat had been duly left in the room. The first morning at breakfast there were no teaspoons or glasses for fruit juice. We ended up having the juice in disposable coffee cups. Cups I was advised later in the stay were 'to go' only and shouldn't be used in the breakfast room. In the absence of milk jugs, it was sensible to use these cups to pour milk into our tea, and take back to our room as the milk cartons were not replenished daily. We used the supplied wine glasses on our second night, only to find these were removed and not replaced until the final night of our stay when an apologetic lady knocked on our door and provided said glasses. We felt sorry for this lady as she had been admonished by her superior in front of guests in the breakfast room earlier in the day - not professional or acceptable in our opinion. There were no proper cups available in the rooms either, so if you don't like drinking out of paper cups, you won't be having tea or coffee in your room either! Finally, and the last straw really, on the last morning, the coffee machine was not working. These things happen and you have to accept this. However, what is not acceptable is the fact the staff did not advise us of this, nor did they offer to make us a pot of tea or a cup of coffee. We left without breakfast that morning and left the hotel earlier than we should have done because we had just had enough. All in all, for a 4 star hotel, we were very disappointed. The hotel could be a whole lot more if most of the staff upped their game - we felt like an inconvenience and most of them didn't look particularly happy in their work. If we return to Rome, we will be looking to stay elsewhere.

Modern and clean rooms. I had the feeling this is a hotel primarily suited to the business traveller, which is trying to attract tourists without really understanding their needs. The breakfast was dull and uninteresting. It never varied from day to day.Fine for one or two days to provide you with something to start the day but not something to look forward to. For example, scrambled and hard-boiled eggs were available each day as standard, but if you wanted a variety e.g. poached or soft boiled eggs these were available but only at an €8 surcharge (REALLY NOT ACCEPTABLE IN MY VIEW). Also, the rooftop bar was being used for private functions on 2 nights we were there so we were ushered around the corner out of the way and not made to feel welcome at all.

When we decided to visit Rome, we chose to stay at The Glam from personal recommendations and when we read the reviews, we were sold. The hotel is around a 30 minute taxi ride from Fiumicino Airport which cost a flat fee of 50€, be prepared for some hair raising driving! When we arrived, we were swiftly checked in and given a voucher for our welcome drink. We booked a classic room on the first floor, the room was surprising large, very modern and spotlessly clean, with a mini bar and coffee machine. The view was only of the courtyard which wasn’t much but this did not matter as we were not in the hotel for most of the day. The bathroom didn’t have a door apart for the toilet which is pretty common in European hotels, but as with the rest of the room, it was very clean and towels were changed on a daily basis. The only issue was that there was slight smell of drains coming from the bathroom on the odd occasion, I’m sure that if I mentioned it to the staff, it would’ve been looked in to. Breakfast had a smaller continental offering with some delicious pastries and cakes, toast, cereal and yoghurts. My personal favourites were the chocolate croissant and vanilla cake. And just like anywhere in Italy, the coffee was fantastic, especially for a self serve machine. We were usually at breakfast at around 9 and there were a few occasions where we had to wait for coffee cups but we didn’t have to wait long. The location of the hotel is simply perfect. A 10 minute walk takes you to the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and the Pantheon with many little cafe’s and gelatories along the way. The only place that we took a taxi to was the Vatican, while it was around a 45 minute walk, it was around 10 minutes through the traffic which cost around 15€. The Monti area of Rome where the hotel is located has some fantastic authentic restaurants and some great bars all within a few minutes walk. We also visited the hotel’s rooftop bar a couple of times after being out for the day exploring the city, the views over to the Wedding Cake was brilliant from there as we enjoyed our bottles of Peroni before sunset. Finally, all the staff that we came into contact with were wonderful and could not do enough for you, from the reception staff, to the bar staff and housekeepers. We felt that 4 nights wasn’t enough time for our first trip to Rome and we will definitely return to The Glam again!
